George Robotham of Greenbank, Logan City has received tertiary training in Human Resource Management and training in the "Targeted Selection" method of employment interviewing. He has conducted a number of employment interviews and attended a number. He brings many years of hands on experience to the process of preparing resumes and advice on preparation for interviews. George brings an awareness of the real world difficulties of dealing with employers who are poorly prepared for the processes and / or less than scrupulous in their dealings with job applicants.
Major tip
Recruitment & selection uses "Past behaviour predicts future behaviour" The idea is to give plenty of examples of where in the past you have successfully done the sort of things that you will be required to do in the new job. Say what you did, how you did it and what were the results.
Winning Resumes
George uses a 8 part template to prepare resumes and a competency summary that focuses on the non-technical skills, eg. interpersonal skills, that employer's value.
The hardest part of the process is the analysis of the applicant’s skills, typically that takes an hour. A draft is then prepared for comment , typically this will take 1-2 hours depending on the breadth and complexity of experience. Typically at this stage the applicant recalls many other things they want to go in the resume and about another hours work is required to incorporate changes.
